We create the spaces where what has been kept apart can meet.
Our work rests on one idea, learned the hard way: wholeness (a person's or a society's) is never argued or engineered into being. It is hosted. It happens when fragments are given room to meet without translating themselves first, and what emerges is something none of them could have designed alone.
For a person, the fragments are the versions of self that have stopped speaking to each other. For a society, they are paradigms, belief systems and cultures locked in the exhausting business of proving each other wrong.
The mechanism is the same at both scales. So is the remedy.
Seven Generations Africa can not be simply explained as a 'retreat facilitator', or an organisation that plants trees, advises projects or creates programs.
We are not a 'what do you do' organisation. We are a 'how do we do it' incubator. Our northern star is the Seventh Generation Principle of the Haudenosaunee. To live in a way that honors the next seven generations of all Life is the first sign that we have achieved wholeness.
Three scales, one practice
The Self. Retreats, guided trails, immersions and one-to-one work. Time on real terrain, long enough that the parts of a person that don't usually speak end up sharing a fire.
Our Relationships. Gatherings, collaborations, programs and hosted convenings. Rooms designed so that people who don't share a language don't have to translate before they can be in it together.
The Field. The New Era work, making competing paradigms legible to one another, and finding the people already building the same world under a hundred different names.
These are not three departments. They are one practice at three magnifications, and every piece of our work touches all three.
Vision
We don't want to articulate our vision. Everyone holds a piece of it. It's the more beautiful world your heart knows is possible. You know it.

We host rather than convince. No paradigm is asked to convert at the door. Advocacy work fails at the root because it requires one side to lose. We are interested in what becomes possible when nobody has to.

We work between worlds. Elders and executives, activists and scientists, land and law, mining and conservation, government and community. Most of our value sits in the rooms nobody else can hold.

We stay small and collaborate wide. A small core, a wide network of partner organisations, guides, facilitators and local businesses. Every engagement should strengthen the bioregion it happens in.

We work from place. The main one is the Magaliesberg mountain range in South Africa. Real land, real trails, real guests. Everything we offer others we have first tested on ourselves.

Seven Generations Africa began as a space where mothers could dream about the world we would want for our great-great grandchildren. Not the pragmatic plans, rather what we wished our descendants would feel.
Happy, safe, fulfilled, nurtured, clean and loved.
I build containers and hold them: on the mountain, in the room, and in the wider conversation. Retreats and guided journeys as a licensed outdoor guide. Convenings for organisations that need people in a room who don't share a language. And the writing underneath all of it.
My work moves between nature immersions, systems change, community and self-development, and I have spent years crossing between worlds that rarely meet like corporate boardrooms and sacred sites, elders and executives, land and law. The question I keep asking in all of them is the same one: how do we act today in service of the next seven generations?
It took me a long time to understand how hikes, sound journeys and ceremonies could sit alongside rewilding strategies, economic empowerment programs and regenerative value chains. I do now. And it has nothing to do with anything that can be written or described. It is experienced. I hope more of us can share, gather and weave it together.
